Welcome to CHIP Governance

Use Discourse to discuss protocol policy, develop proposals and track implementation.

Discourse will open for community participation at a later date. Follow all USD.AI communications channels for the opening date.

How to use Discourse

Choose the relevant category. Identify your topic as:

  1. General — General discussion and anything that doesn’t fit into the other categories.
  2. Originations — Loan pricing, LTV limits, eligible equipment and general financing requirements.
  3. Underwriting — ComputeIQ methodology, scoring weights, eligibility thresholds and supporting evidence.
  4. Liquidity & Settlement — sUSDai utilization, reserves, deployment conditions, redemptions, integrations and incentives.
  5. Capital Markets — GLX loan sales, participant roles, execution terms, pricing, compensation and settlement.
  6. Authority — Proposal requirements, governor settings, delegation, voting and implementation responsibilities.

Proposal Process

A Discourse post does not change protocol policy or contracts.

  1. Frame the Change — Choose the governance category and identify the post as a Discussion or Proposal. Describe the exact change, evidence, expected effects and risks. State relevant conflicts, the proposed voting route, implementation owner and effective date.

  2. Open a CRFC (Chip Request for Comment) — Use Discourse to pressure-test the change and incorporate legal and technical assessment. Requires a 4 day discussion.

  3. Run the Snapshot Vote — Both Routine and High Impact routes require a CRFC Snapshot after discussion. Rejected proposals do not advance. Approved proposals continue only when ratification or execution is needed.

  4. Vote and Implement — Submit the applicable on-chain proposal. Token holders vote. If successful, queue the proposal, wait through the timelock, then execute within the governor’s permissions. Close the loop in the proposal topic with implementation evidence, completed actions, and remaining work.

On-Chain Governors

Routine (Short) — Records a policy decision on-chain, but does not itself change protocol contracts.

Proposal Threshold = 50M CHIP
Quorum = 3% of Supply
Voting Delay = 1 day
Voting Period = 3 days
Late-Quorum Extension = 1 day
Timelock = 1 day

High Impact (Long) — Covers CHIP and sCHIP contract governance within the governor and timelock permissions.

Proposal Threshold = 125M CHIP
Quorum = 7% of Supply
Voting Delay = 1 day
Voting Period = 10 days
Late-Quorum Extension = 1 day
Timelock = 1 day
